I always walk around with a beacon above, a glowing signal for those who need help to inquire within, or for opportunities for random acts of kindness to appear before me. I try to give more to the day than I take and I'm always on the look out for a chance to extend kindness to a stranger.
After I ran to the bus in the rain today, the driver informed me it would still be another 10 minutes before the bus left the station.
Out of breath, I excitedly stated "Oh good! then I can go get a coffee!"
"I was thinking the same thing myself, but..."
Let me get that for you. I insist. I know what it's like to need a coffee and be stuck at work. Let me be that person who adds a little pep to the rest of your route. When I saw the look of disbelief on her face, that a rider of the ttc would be so happily willing to drop another $2 on top of the hefty monthly metropass cost they already shell out, it was worth it. A reminder of goodness. That dispite your affiliation with the ttc, you're just like me. Out there hustlin, doing your best, working hard, and wanting a coffee on a rainy day. Why do rainy days always have the worst reputation anyway? Instead of being in a funk, get funky. They always make me want to be even kinder. Cause when it rains it pours, and when it pours it sprinkles.
Be awesome together y'all. It just feels so damn good.
